Colonel Diane P. Richie
Colonel Diane P. Richie is the Senior Army Instructor for Lee/New Century Technology High School JROTC Program. She joined Huntsville City Schools after 28 years of service to her country. She is a transplanted native of Detroit, MI and was designated as a Distinguished Military Graduate and commissioned into the Chemical Corps through the ROTC program at the University of Detroit, Detroit, MI. She entered active duty in 1986, after graduating from Wayne State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. She is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and numerous other military schools.
COL Richie's duty assignments have placed in areas around the world with varying levels of responsibilities throughout her career. Later in her military career she was branched from the Chemical Corps to the Logistics Branch as a Quartermaster Officer. Her last active duty assignment was the Military Deputy to the Chief of Staff for Resource Management, G-8, and United States Army Materiel Command (AMC) on Redstone Arsenal.
Her military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
Colonel Richie is married to Colonel Glenn Richie and they have two children, Jessica and Brandon and two grandsons Jayden and Jeremiah.
